The Courtbridge II Project

Details:

• Balcony restoration and structural rehabilitation for Courtbridge II community in Arlington, VA
• Community consisted of 9 buildings and 58 units built in 1982, requiring modern safety upgrades
• Balconies and decks had extensive structural issues, most required full demolition and rebuild
• Exterior Medics chosen for our adaptability, experience, and ability to manage complex projects
• Project began with clear planning and monthly meetings between Exterior Medics, engineers, and HOA board
• Process involved working one building at a time to stay organized and focused
• Discovered significant unforeseen structural deficiencies, all of which were addressed in real time
• Used Madwood treated lumber for framing and Beveled Cedar siding for restored aesthetics
• Completed full community painting as part of the final scope
• Project took approximately one year and was completed with strong collaboration between all parties
• Result: a safer, better-looking community and a strengthened partnership between Exterior Medics and the property management team
