When it comes to go-getters, Exterior Medics looks to one of our Community Coordinators, Courtney Blackmon. She manages a difficult position efficiently and effectively, making sure new and existing clients get the attention and support they deserve. We love her energy and all that she contributes to the team. Think of Courtney as our residential sales coordinator, except for our property managers. She assists co-owner Mark Watson with his proposals for multifamily communities and ensures that the residents of the communities are always apprised of their project.
The Rise of a Department
Courtney joined the team in 2019 after working for a restoration company as an administrative assistant. She was drawn to Exterior Medics because of their strong core values and morals. The property management support department was relatively new. She was excited to be a part of establishing policies and procedures with the team. Courtney says she enjoyed the process of working on learning the different styles and strengths of the team and developing a strong and enthusiastic group that provides critical support to the clients and the company.
A Community Coordinator
As a Community Coordinator, Courtney is the primary point of contact for project managers and residents of multi-unit communities. She is responsible for preparing bids for projects for potential clients by working with the sales team and inspectors to create a winning proposal. Often these projects involve significant renovations like replacing all balconies. Once the bid is accepted, she takes on the project's critical elements by acting as the Exterior Medics team's liaison. She manages the client portal by making weekly progress updates. She attends resident meetings, such as HOA boards, to answer questions and address issues. Suppose you know someone living in a multifamily community. In that case, this is the elevated experience that they are getting with Exterior Medics.

Mark Watson's Right-Hand Woman
When she isn't managing community relationships, Courtney also finds time to be the assistant to co-owner Mark Watson. She helps with his calendar and provides other support. According to Courtney, she and Mark are very similar personalities noting, "He and I understand the way each other works, which is a beneficial dynamic."

There's No Mold Here
One of her favorite things about Exterior Medics is its family orientation. Courtney feels that every employee is encouraged to be their best self instead of fitting into some mold. This makes working together occasionally challenging but ultimately effective and rewarding. Being virtual hasn't been a problem for Courtney since she is an independent worker. She likes to get her music going and get to work. Her favorite music is R&B, and she listens to the 90's R&B station on Pandora.
Courtney is from Maryland but currently resides in Virginia. When she isn't working, she likes to spend time with her two children. They enjoy many activities together, including going to parks and museums and bowling and eating out. But this go-getter also finds time to read and do yoga, and she paints. She currently follows YouTube videos, but she says she is looking forward to the start-up of "paint and sip" events that are a favorite activity.
With everything that she has on her plate, we are impressed by how Courtney handles herself with poise and good spirit. We love having her on the team at Exterior Medics, and she inspires us to get going.
