At Exterior Medics, we have some bright lines that drive our business. We believe in our team – they are our family. We believe in giving the best 360º service to our clients. And we believe in giving back. Over the years, through team volunteering, drives and donations, we have always contributed to help good causes that matter to us in our area, including groups like Chance for Life, Luke’s Wings, and Out of the Darkness. But we wanted to do more. Family and service are about legacy, and we want our giving to be the same. So, with great excitement, we want to share our plans for a new initiative that will focus our public service efforts moving forward.
Clearing The Path For Education
The idea for our new effort came when we were contacted by a social worker from a local school, who told us about a few kids who had urgent needs for the basics like decent clothing and a bed. We were deeply affected by the thought of a child trying to go to school while sleeping on the floor at night. This didn’t seem right, and it didn’t take much for us to provide the necessary item
How Many More?
We started to wonder how many other kids are out there who need something fundamental to help them keep their focus on school and not how to get a decent night’s sleep. What if Exterior Medics could be a direct resource for these kinds of needs? What if we set up a fund and spread the word to other caring administrators and social workers that they could apply for help for kids in need? We love the idea of drawing a direct line between our efforts and individual children who are in school and need a little help to get their education. We hope our partnerships with the schools can lead to a real benefit to kids.
Issuing A Challenge To Ourselves
Instead of waiting for an ask, Exterior Medics will be setting up a fund and actively seeking partnerships with contacts at local schools. We plan to set annual benchmark goals for contributing to the fund and striving to meet or exceed them each year. To balance our success with our commitment to giving back, we plan to make a specific contribution to the fund for every project we take on so that, as we grow and achieve, we help kids do the same.
Putting It All Together
We see this fund as an opportunity to do more than write a check. We want to have a direct, tangible impact on the lives of children. We decided on a fund because it creates an opportunity to grow over time, both in the amount of the fund and in its ambition. Some possibilities include inviting our partners to participate in the fund through direct contribution or an event that brings our community together for a good cause. We’re working on some other ideas, and we hope to roll them out after we’ve launched in the initial effort.
