A ten-year veteran of Exterior Medics, Tom Green is the Operations Manager of the Fredericksburg location. Over the years, he has been an important contributor to the growth and success of the company. A true people person, Tom loves being a part of the team, and we love having him.
The Early Days
Before joining the team, Tom worked in the marine insurance business as a claims adjuster, but he truly enjoyed his side job as a bartender. Getting to know the regulars and new patrons was where Tom learned to love meeting and connecting with people. His favorite bar was a brewery where he poured craft beers and enjoyed sipping on IPAs, which he still drinks to this day.
When Tom first joined Exterior Medics, the company was located in Manassas and run out of Joe Levecchi’s basement. Tom was excited to join a company led by two young, innovative owners who keep the company on the leading edge of the industry. It helped that Tom’s baby sister is married to Mark. He jumped into a sales role feet first, and he hasn’t looked back.
His Rise Through The Ranks
Tom was the Exterior Medics top salesperson for 6 years in a row. From 2013 to 2018, Tom displayed his trademark proactive approach to developing solid business for the company, and his efforts were a valuable contribution. According to Ashley of Stafford, VA, “Tom’s professionalism, precise diagnosis, and responsiveness was the reason we went with him and Exterior Medics to repair our home’s siding.” Tom says his favorite part about sales at Exterior Medics is solving people’s problems. According to Tom, “I really enjoy working with the client to improve their home and making sure our project meets their goals.”
In August 2019, Tom took on the job of Operations Manager in Fredericksburg. He has been steadily building out the region ever since. For leadership, Tom was the obvious choice. According to Mark Watson, Tom has “a true understanding of the level of grit it takes to develop and grow in a new market. He’s consistently demonstrated a clear understanding of our company’s values and has been instrumental in our growth over the last decade.” And Joe had this to say: ““Tom's compassion for the people he serves and proven commitment to the success of Exterior Medics made him the perfect candidate to run our Fredericksburg division. Tom Green will always have your best interest at heart.”
New Challenges Ahead
Tom likes the challenge of being in a new area. Since it is more rural, he has extra time between appointments to listen to podcasts in the truck on subjects ranging from sales, to sports to TV reviews. The Tony Kornheiser Show is one of his favorites. “It can be a challenge to talk to people in the new territory about our value proposition,” he says. People are used to a “Chuck with his truck” instead of a professional company, but he finds having genuine conversations and making authentic connections has helped things flourish in the new region. It helps that Exterior Medics professional, service-oriented value proposition appeals to a lot of people.
Tom loves working for Exterior Medics. For him, the culture and the people make the company what it is. He is proud of the company values, and he believes in modeling and fostering the “work hard, play hard” mentality that Exterior Medics wants from the whole team. Positivity and a respectful attitude lead to success, and he appreciates seeing them in everyone at the company.
As a long-term employee, Tom has been able to see the company evolve and become the successful, award winning enterprise it is today. He looks forward to being a part of Exterior Medics in the years to come.
