When Opportunity Knocks, Our Team Members Answer: Meet Josh Bond

What does Exterior Medics do when they meet someone hungry to learn and grow in their career? We hire them of course! One of our long-term team members is our Sales Manager, Josh Bond, and he came to us with ambition and a “can-do” attitude that has resulted in outstanding success for Josh and for us.

More Than Half a Decade Ago

Six years ago, we recruited Josh from his job as a car salesman to join our sales team as a sales representative. He was looking to start a real career, and we were looking for someone with potential who was willing to start in on the ground level with energy and enthusiasm. As Josh tells it, he had a “rough start” adjusting from selling a finished product like a car to presenting Exterior Medics in a competitive light. When he realized that he needed to clearly convey the Exterior Medic’s value proposition – a solid plan, a good reputation, and serious expertise – his numbers took off, and he became one of the stars of the sales team.

Work Hard, Play Hard

Josh doesn’t “take it easy” when it comes to working. He says his Dad helped him to learn some of the technical sides of the industry, but, more importantly, he taught Josh that “you always give it your all.” After three years with the company, when co-owners Joe Levecchi and Mark Watson announced that the company was looking for a new Sales Manager, Josh saw a chance to take his career to the next level, and he put his hat in the ring. According to Josh, “The amazing thing about Joe and Mark is that they will put in the same energy and commitment that you do. They will meet your effort with their own every time.” Joe and Mark immediately considered Josh. They had a series of conversations about the expectations and scope of the position, and Josh was clear: “If I don’t know it now, I’m down to learn.” Josh had already proven himself with his hard work and ambition, and on April 1, 2017, he became the Sales Manager.

For Josh, the Exterior Medics approach to its team has been a perfect match. Josh loves to learn and grow, and he gets one-on-one coaching from leadership, as well as training from outside consultants and seminars. For him, supportive leadership is echoed in the team. “Exterior Medics is very family-centric,” he says. “They have been there for me with support and advice as an employee, and they also have been there for me 100% every time some type of situation has come up in my life.” As far as Josh is concerned, “I am better at what I do because of whom I work for and whom I work with.”

There's a Goal to Hit!

As a sales manager, Josh takes his leadership role seriously, frequently meeting with his team individually and as a group to set goals, review procedures, and make sure everyone is on track.

He’s been working hard at software implementation to get the team paperless while still taking the time to keep his skills sharp with one or two sales calls a week. In his downtime, he and his fiancé love all types of outdoor activities like hiking, cycling, and kayaking. An avid reader, when he bought his first house, he was able to fulfill a lifelong dream of having his own library of hundreds of books.

When Josh joined Exterior Medics, we saw so much potential, and it has been great to see him grow and contribute to the success of the company. We love finding people with the right attitude and working with them to achieve career success as part of our team. Josh is one of our stars, and we are so glad he’s with us today.
