A Race Against the Elements
The Farmer home was in dire need of an update. With stained siding and collapsed gutters, this French Colonial home had taken on a dreary look. The family knew they needed to put some work into the home to bring it back to its glory, but they were adamant about maintaining their home’s French Colonial look — classic, elegant, and fitting for the area. Exterior Medics was excited to deliver an end result that would honor the home's beauty.
Before committing to the renovation, the couple met with Mark several times, discussing concerns, asking questions, and devising a plan.
“Whereas other contractors tried to lead us to siding or roofing materials they wanted us to install, Mark offered us a range of options and helped us come to a decision about what was best for us," Michaele said.
With Mark's help, Michaele and her husband decided on GAF Woodland for the roof, James Hardie 8 1/4 inch smooth lap panels for the siding, and cedar shingles for the gabled accents. For the trim, they elected to use a mix of James Hardie and white aluminum. Finally, we chose to custom fit the gutters on-site to meet the exact dimensions of the home.
“We are so thankful our home makeover became magazine worthy!” Michaele said, whose opinion about home renovations has changed since working with Exterior Medics. While there’s nothing simple about major home improvement projects, the Farmers discovered that with the right help, the process can be a memorable and positive experience.
